Bathtime is one of my favorite bonding moments with my baby — but as a mom, I’m always mindful of what I’m putting on her delicate skin. Babies have super sensitive skin, and my pediatrician mentioned that eczema often starts showing around the 2-6 month mark.
That’s why I’m extra cautious and choose to stick with fragrance-free products to reduce the risk of irritation or allergic reactions.
After testing a few different options, I found a simple, gentle routine that my baby and I both love. These products are safe, effective, and free of fragrances or harsh additives — just the way I like it.
This tub has been a total game changer. It grows with your baby, from newborn to toddler, and the adjustable bump and recline make it comfortable and safe. Plus, the built-in color-changing drain plug helps you monitor water temperature.
I’m a big fan of the Honest Company line. This 2-in-1 shampoo and body wash is gentle, fragrance-free, and made for sensitive skin. It cleanses without drying, and I’ve never had to worry about it causing irritation.
After bathtime, I always follow up with this lightweight, fragrance-free lotion. It absorbs quickly, hydrates deeply, and helps lock in moisture — especially great for dry patches or sensitive areas.
Cradle cap usually shows up around 3 to 4 months, and I like being prepared for it early. These two products have been gentle, effective, and easy to use — especially during bath time.
This set includes a soft goat bristle brush, a silicone cradle cap brush, and a wooden comb. The silicone brush is especially great during baths — it’s gentle and effective at lifting flakes, while the soft-bristle brush is perfect for gently combing baby hair afterward.
If your baby ends up with visible cradle cap flakes, this system is a lifesaver. The sponge, brush, and comb combo work together perfectly, and it even comes with a storage stand. It's one of the most effective systems I’ve found for managing flakes gently without irritating baby’s scalp.
My baby hasn’t shown any signs of eczema so far, and I believe a lot of that has to do with sticking to a fragrance-free, hypoallergenic routine. Even products that smell nice can contain irritants that are harsh on baby skin.
By keeping things simple and clean, I feel confident that I’m protecting my little one — while still keeping her skin soft, smooth, and healthy.
If you're preparing your bathtime setup or looking to simplify what you use on your baby’s skin, I highly recommend starting fragrance-free. You’ll minimize the risk of reactions and still get all the nourishment and cleansing your baby needs.
These products are part of our daily routine and have been gentle, effective, and worry-free — just the way baby care should be.
